PPO
Overview
Using 2,6-dimethylphenol as a monomer, under the action of a catalyst, a high molecular polyphenylene ether is formed by oxidative coupling reaction and solution polymerization.
It is a kind of thermoplastic engineering plastics with excellent comprehensive properties, and the outstanding features are excellent electrical insulation and water resistance, and good dimensional stability.
Poor melt fluidity and difficult to shape. Need to blend polymers (usually mixed with PS or PA) modification to improve the molding processability, so it has also been rapidly developed. The commodities currently circulating on the market are mainly modified polyphenylene ether (MPPO or MPPE)
